 Correspondence Course

The Chiara College offers an introductory course by correspondence. It has been designed to provide flexibility, allowing students to open to Metaphysical concepts at their own pace and convenience.

The primary objective of the course is to facilitate remote access to information while maintaining the integrity of the subject matter.

The course includes written lecture material,  meditation and exercises plus a cd of meditation music. A sample of the lessons are listed below.

Module Number  Topic, Description and Reading Material Week Guide
Module 1 Introduction to Metaphysics

What is Metaphysics? This course is an introduction to applied spiritual metaphysics to facilitate personal and spiritual development.

1
Module 2 Energy

What is energy? This unit examines the concept of universal energy (also known as chi, prana or etheric energy). We are energy - our thoughts, our emotions and our actions are "energy in motion". The unit introduces how the aura and chakra systems are connected to our 'energy in motion'.

 2
Module 3  The Aura

The Human Aura, or energy field, (HEF), is a complex, luminous energy field that surrounds the physical body. Composed of four auric bodies of consciousness and seven auric layers of vibration, the aura is a dynamic system. This unit is an introduction to the nature of the Human Aura and its' functions.

3
Module 4 Chakras

Chakras are spinning vortices of energy located in the physical body and emanating through the auric system. They transform the physical and etheric energies that are vital for our existence. This unit is an introduction to the system of the seven major chakras and each one's unique role within this model. There are also many minor chakra points that will not be addressed in this unit.

4
Module 5 Spirit Guides

Spirit guides are beings of light who help us on our journey through life. These benevolent beings guide us toward our true spiritual reality. They are here to assist us in looking at issues and problems in our lives from a higher perspective.

5
Module 6 Meditation

Meditation is often used to relieve stress. However, meditation is also a technique to open the door to higher communication with the inner Self, and inner communication with the Higher Self. This unit discusses different meditation techniques, the healing benefits of meditation and how, through meditation, each of us can learn to tap into our own spirituality.

 6
Module 7 The Journey of the Soul through the Aura

Examines how the aura and the chakras act as vehicles for the soul's expression.

7
Module 8 How our energies affect other people

Have you ever felt someone else's energy? Have you ever walked into the room after people have been arguing and felt the tension in the air? Have you ever turned up to a party feeling despondent but, after five minutes in an environment with happy 'vibes', you transform and become happier? Energy affects us at subtle levels. This unit examines why and how other peoples' energies can affect us and how our energies may impact others.

8
Module 9 Colour as a Vibration

Colour can affect our emotional and mental well being. Colour is a frequency of energy, a vibration. This experiential unit examines the effect different colours have on a physical and spiritual level. This module examines the function and consciousness of the Base Chakra in detail.

 9
Module 10 Review

Where can I find more about the Metaphysics Certificate?
The Metaphysics Certificate is a course offered to on-campus students and more information can be found under Metaphysics Certificate

What are the starting dates of Correspondence Course?
There is no fixed starting dates. You may start the course at any time. The course is "paced" with a recommended study period for each module which you can adhere to or adapt to your own needs. The recommended study period is relative to your own starting date and so each student has their own personalised timetable.

How do I view or print the lectures and reference material supplied in PDF format?
Many of the course modules will be supplied in PDF format. Portable Document Format (PDF) has been developed by Adobe Products. Adobe have made available FREE software which allows you to read and print PDF files on all major computer platforms. Comprehensive documentation and the free download of Adobe Acrobat Reader are available here. By nominating your computer operating system and filling in some questions you will be given instructions on how to download and install the software. Once installed, you will be able to view PDF files from within your browser as if they were a standard web page. Adobe Acrobat's PDF format has many advantages over standard web pages which are outlined in the documentation.

Why is my connection slow?
There are many reasons why connection can be less than ideal:

  • A low speed modem

  • a slow ISP (Internet Service Provider)

  • you are viewing during a peak period for your ISP

  • a bottleneck in the connection to the server

The course has been designed to operate on the lowest grade of computer so upgrading your computer will have no effect on the download. The most effective way to complete the courses if you find that you have a slow connection is to optimise your Internet Connection by downloading the pages to your local computer and view the pages off-line.
